Hi guys...
Well, the 1st song has been released from the upcoming album from Metallica and Lou Reed titled LuLu. This song was released today, and the album is set to release October 31st. Here is my review.
This song starts off with almost a doom metal riff, and I'm not gonna lie, I thought the riff was ok the 1st few times it was played. But the riff was played again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. To say the least, it was very repetitive. It was very repetitive. It was very repetitive. Seriously though, the riff literally didn't change for the entire 6 minutes or so of the song. To make matters worse, the song was slow, so you can imagine how tedious it got. Also, the drums and bass did nothing interesting at all in this song. It was simplistic, repetitive, it was too slow, there was no solo, I mean musically this thing was a mess.
But really the nail in the coffin was the lyrics and vocals. Lou Reed sounds like he drunk and mumbling the entire time. Nothing he says makes any sense, it's almost as though he's making everything up as he goes along. When James comes in on the chorus, his vocals are strong, but the lyrics are laughably bad. At one point James is screaming I am the table. I honestly sat there and laughed.
Pros:James is strong on the chorus.
Well...it is Metallica
Cons:Song literally does nothing
Lou Reed's awful vocal delivery
Really crappy lyrics.
Guys...this song was bad. I mean, like St Anger bad. It looks like the collaboration with Lou Reed may be as bad as everyone though it would be.
