Hi guys!
Yeah its been a while....but Ive been busy with the band so forgive me. I'll write a review soon, I promise.
Alright, so the question is what do you think it means to sell out?
Now selling out, at least to me, is an overused term. Now bands do sell out, Linkin Park and Children of Bodom are prime examples. But I think a lot of times you can feel the change coming. Like with metal band Kataklysm. I think their shift in sound was slowly brought in, album by album, and was more of an evolution, not really a matter of selling out. Same can be said with Kreator, Katatonia, and Metallica, although St. Anger was a bit of a smack in the face.
So what does it mean to actually sell out IMO? Its when you pull a Linkin Park and completely change your sound with no warning. I think thats when its pretty safe to assume they sold out.
Gimme your opinions, and Ill see ya next time.
