Heya you guys! Hope you're all doing well. :3 It is 5 in the morning and I'm dawn blogging again! Yay! Not really. This is really bad for me. Once school starts, I'll be taking one hour rests if I keep this up. I'll fix my sleep pattern soon enough! Hopefully...

So as you might have noticed, I changed my username. Yes, I am no longer Rattie. I am now awkwardlyAwesome! Actually, I've always been awkwardly awesome, because yes. So for those of you wondering why oh why I changed my name, here's the answer in great detail.

I made up the name "ratgirl4eva" in 5th grade. I came up with the name based on the facts that I was born in the year of the rat, am a girl, and will stay this way pretty much forever. Back then, I thought it was pretty awesome.

Years went by and I started to notice how stupid and immature the username looked. I mean, no offense to anyone who uses these next few quirks in their usernames, but look at that "4eva"! Definitely seems like the account of a 10-year-old. Luckily, I didn't spell girl without the i (grl) because that would have made it worse.

As I became older I started realizing more and more that the username really doesn't suit me well at all. Seeing that the name is "ratgirl", it could imply that I actually like rats. Well...although I love the zodiac sign, I am not too fond of rodents, or any type of animal in that case, except dogs. I can tolerate dogs.

Furthermore, the name "ratgirl" didn't define who exactly I am as a person too well. It's funny because like most pre-adolescents on the internet I created my usernames based on things I was a fan of. For example, my Club Penguin username Uzumaki1, and my first Youtube account Gaarasgrl96. As you can see, I was an avid fan of Naruto, but that's besides the point.

I wanted to step away from usernames directly based off of things I liked. So when I made my first tumblr, I wanted it to sound cooler and way more mature than my previous ones. Thus awkwardly--awesome was created. Yes, there must be two dashes, otherwise you'll find another person's blog. Okay, so maybe it isn't so mature either, but at least this one had no numbers or direct references! It's stuck to me like glue, so I decided to rename myself here as awkwardlyAwesome. Why is the "a" in awesome capitalized and not in awkwardly? Because Homestuck. Still not a direct reference!

So basically, in a nutshell, I changed my username because I changed mentally, personally. But hey, I'm still me, alright? Just now, I'm not Rattie. I'm Awk. Actually you know what? I'm Arlene. That's what I have always been my entire life. But seriously, just call me Awk.
